Rush hour 8am this morning....
* Waiting at a T-junction to turn right
* Vehicle approaching from right, indicating left
* Pull out in front of vehicle and then discover it wasn't turning left it was in fact carrying straight on
"What sort of vehicle did your wife collide with?" I hear you ask.
A bicycle?....no
A car?....no
A van?....no
A cement mixer wagon?....oh yes!
She doesn't believe in doing anything half-hearted doesn't our Stell!  |

She was a little shaken as was her passenger. Both were taken to hospital as a precaution.
Accident happened at 8:15am, I recovered the car myself and it was parked in our front garden by 9:30am. Insurance company informed soon after, courtesy car arrived at 2pm and Mini was collected by accident repair centre at 3pm.
10/10 for Direct Line, not the cheapest by any means but blimey they're efficient!  |

When someone went into my car, Direct Line were a nightmare. I told them I didn't want to make a claim as the 3rd party was sorting it all out, but they still put it as a claim (without telling me) as they arranged a body shop to give a quote on it. So when it came to renewal, they had wiped my NCB off and whacked the premium up. Naturally I called to try to sort it out. After holding for hours and getting passed to different departments over a period of 2 months, I just gave up on them. Now with Adrian Flux, NCB intact and paying less than I ever was with Direct Line.....I do not know why their systems were so poor in this case as they've been great for my Astravan..... |

I hate talking to numpties!
Phone call from some chimp at the accident repair centre this morning asking me what sort of bumper was on the Mini to which I replied "Take a look for yourself it's in the f****** boot!"
Phone call from some woman at Direct Line this morning asking me if I knew my wife's car was a limited edition, i.e. a Mini Cooper S Works, and that I hadn't declared the fact it was a Works version when I took the policy out on Stell's behalf. I explained (in a less than calm manner) that I had and that she had better go away and check her records again. Five minutes later she phoned back to tell me that I had in fact declared that the car was a Works version when I took the policy out and that the claim would now go through without any further hiccups.
