Took the car today for a quick test, seemed to be O.K.
Then it spat a little water out.
I've since discovered that after removing the heater hoses I should have drilled some small holes in the stat to allow circulation.
Looks like a very early start tomorrow.
Hopefully this hasn't caused any damage.
Taking a cordless drill, some gasket sealant and a spare head just in case.

Well, today went really well, an issue with starts still but were getting there now. Even did some paint axchanging with another car, great feeling going flat out hearing the scrape of metal.
Car is now quicker now the fueling is somewhere near.

Got to get off the line quicker, but it doesn't help when there's a false starter.
Car was noticeably quicker after we weakened the mixture.
Can't wait until the next one.
